The Ethereum Economic Zone: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of The Ethereum Economic Zone?

The primary goal is to solve the 'fragmentation problem' of Ethereum Layer-2s, enabling seamless, bridge-less interactions and shared liquidity across the entire ecosystem.

Q: How Can I Participate in The Ethereum Economic Zone's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by using dApps within the EEZ Alliance (like Aave or Gnosis Pay) and by holding ETH, which serves as the universal gas token for the zone.

Q: What Sets The Ethereum Economic Zone Apart from Competitors?

Unlike Cosmos or Polkadot which use separate L1s, EEZ leverages Ethereum's massive existing security and liquidity while providing the same level of synchronous interoperability.

Q: Is The Ethereum Economic Zone Secure?

Yes, it is designed with 'Ethereum-equivalent' security. All transactions are anchored to the Ethereum mainnet and verified using high-performance zero-knowledge proofs.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with The Ethereum Economic Zone?

Risks include technical complexities in real-time ZK proving and the requirement for participating chains to give up some autonomy by following Ethereum's state (re-org risk).

The Ethereum Economic Zone

Non-profit R&D

The Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) is a framework for L2s to work better with each other and Ethereum. EEZ helps Ethereum operate as a unified ecosystem, reducing fragmentation and consolidating liquidity across Ethereum-compatible networks through synchronous composability.

What is The Ethereum Economic Zone?

The Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) is a collaborative framework initiated by Gnosis and Zisk, co-funded by the Ethereum Foundation. Its mission is to unify Ethereum's fragmented Layer-2 (L2) landscape by transforming isolated rollups into a single, contiguous 'continent.' The project aims to restore synchronous composability, allowing various L2s to behave as one cohesive system while keeping security anchored to the Ethereum mainnet.

How Does The Ethereum Economic Zone Work?

The EEZ works by enabling 'synchronous composability' through real-time zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs. Utilizing the Zisk proving stack, smart contracts on participating rollups can perform atomic calls to contracts on the Ethereum mainnet or other EEZ rollups within a single transaction. It standardizes ETH as the default gas token across the zone, removing the need for traditional, slow, and risky bridge protocols for asset movement and contract execution.

What Makes The Ethereum Economic Zone Unique?

Unlike existing cross-chain protocols that operate asynchronously, the EEZ allows for instant, single-transaction interactions across different chains. It eliminates 'walled gardens' of liquidity, allowing a dApp on one rollup to utilize a liquidity pool or oracle on another seamlessly. Key use cases include unified DeFi operations (e.g., Aave or CoW Swap) where capital moves freely without fragmentation, and the simplification of the developer experience by removing the need for chain-specific deployments.

Who Are the Founders of The Ethereum Economic Zone?

The project is a joint effort led by Friederike Ernst, co-founder of Gnosis, and Jordi Baylina, founder of Zisk. Ernst is a veteran of Ethereum infrastructure (Gnosis Safe, Gnosis Chain), while Baylina is a renowned ZK researcher who created the Circom language and co-founded Polygon zkEVM. The initiative is also backed and co-funded by the Ethereum Foundation.

What Key Events Have There Been for The Ethereum Economic Zone?

The project was officially unveiled at the EthCC conference in Cannes on March 29, 2026. A major milestone was the formation of the EEZ Alliance, featuring founding members like Aave, Flashbots, Nethermind, Safe, and Centrifuge. The initiative marks a significant strategic pivot for the Ethereum Foundation back toward scaling the base layer through deeper L2 integration.

Project Announcements

Recent updates include the release of the 'Ethereum 3.0 vision' technical proposal and the establishment of the EEZ Alliance. Developers have promised the publication of full technical specifications and performance benchmarks for the real-time ZK proving stack in the coming weeks.

Latest Airdrop

Currently, there is no official information regarding a specific EEZ token airdrop, as the project emphasizes the use of ETH as its primary gas and utility token.

ICO Time

Not applicable; the project is co-funded by the Ethereum Foundation and Gnosis, with no public initial coin offering announced.

IDO Time

No IDO is scheduled as the EEZ is an infrastructure framework rather than a new token-issuing protocol.

TGE Time

Not applicable; the EEZ utilizes existing ETH and does not have a separate Token Generation Event.

Where to Buy The Ethereum Economic Zone?

The Ethereum Economic Zone does not have its own native token; it uses ETH. ETH can be traded on all major exchanges, including Bitget, Binance, Coinbase, and OKX, with high liquidity in pairs like ETH/USDT and ETH/BTC.

The Ethereum Economic Zone Price

Daily Trading Volume

As of June 2026, Ethereum (ETH) maintains a high daily trading volume typically ranging between $10 billion and $25 billion depending on market volatility.

All-Time High

The historical ATH for ETH was approximately $4,891 on November 16, 2021. Current prices (approx. $2,000 in early 2026 context) represent a significant decrease from this peak.

All-Time Low

The ATL for ETH was approximately $0.42 on October 21, 2015, showing massive long-term growth for the asset.

Market Cap and Valuation

Market Cap

Ethereum holds the second-largest market capitalization in the crypto industry, often valued between $200 billion and $400 billion.

Fully Diluted Valuation

As Ethereum has no fixed supply cap, its FDV is generally equivalent to its current market cap, influenced by its burn mechanism (EIP-1559) and issuance rates.

The Ethereum Economic Zone Price Prediction

Credible insights from sources like CoinDesk and institutional reports from BlackRock and Goldman Sachs focus on ETH's transition to a 'treasury' asset and its utility in the EEZ. While price forecasts vary, experts emphasize that the EEZ could revitalize ETH's value accrual by centralizing L2 economic activity back to the mainnet. However, specific price targets for late 2026 remain speculative and subject to broader macroeconomic trends.

How to buy The Ethereum Economic Zone?

To purchase ETH for use in the Ethereum Economic Zone, follow these simple steps using the Bitget Wallet:
Download the Bitget Wallet: Download the app from the official website or app store.
Create an Account: Secure your wallet with a strong password and backup your recovery phrase.
Fund Your Wallet: Deposit USDT or buy ETH directly using fiat currency.
